this is getting very amusing...

I honestly didn't think I would see the day when the Moon cars would be such a hot topic of discussion. However, there are too many other areas in the park that need the attention and funding, and the Moon Cars is most definitely not one of those areas.
so many people are making a stink about the cars, tell me this then, exactly how much time do you guys actually spend riding this ride? because from the way the discussion is going your making it sound like you spend as much time riding the Moon cars as you do the coasters, and I really find that hard to believe...
The only thing wrong with the cars at this point is that they run on a short track, and that's it. The moon cars had their prime years, and that was back in the parks earlier days, a time when a lot of you weren't even around yet. Over the years they slowly lost their popularity, the track was shortened, and moved on a couple of occasions, to suit the parks needs. When EK was installed, my guess is that the park reinstalled the Moon cars just to keep them in the park since it is one of the parks original operating rides.
I honestly don't think, with today's standards, views, expectations, that even if the park WAS to invest in the Moon cars, that it would ever become a top ride again. people want more for their money now days, they expect a little more excitement and entertainment for their money, more than what a 7-10 mph car ride is going to do.
I think those here complaining about the Moon cars are doing it more because of nostalgic reasons, more than anything else.
Lets move to a different section of the park, a ride that could definitely use some funding in 2011 would be our parks only dark ride, Scooby Doo. I have been lucky or unlucky enough to witness every version of our parks dark ride, some were better than others. Scooby Doo is fun, but honestly half of that rides sets are so dark, and several parts of it aren't even working anymore, for the last month of the season or more, the mystery van hasn't been working either, it makes all of its sounds, but the lights didn't come on and the van didn't move from its spot like its supposed to.
I propose that the park completely renovates the ride, remove the waterway and boats, and installs something like Holiday Worlds dark ride, the Gobbler Getaway..:

that's how the dark ride should look, in my opinion anyway, I would rather see them do something like this more than work on the Moon cars, wouldn't you?
