I think getting the Moon cars back to what they where is a good investment, I worked them in the 80's when they where like that and it was a blast. Speaking of the cars, does anyone know what happened to the super sports cars after they where removed for Jetscream.

I keep reading about how the park is trying to get everything back to Tip Top shape, well that includes the Moon Cars too.  If they are going to keep this attraction, make it something worthwhile.  It's current layout just plain Sucks.  One of the worst attractions for a Amusement Park of any Calibur.  If there was an Amusement Park Razzie - This is attraction would win hands down.

If it were me, I'd yank the up-charge Go-Karts and put the Moons there.  With some descent landscaping and Decor' that would make a nice spot.

this is getting very amusing... Grin  I honestly didn't think I would see the day when the Moon cars would be such a hot topic of discussion.  However, there are too many other areas in the park that need the attention and funding, and the Moon Cars is most definitely not one of those areas.

so many people are making a stink about the cars, tell me this then, exactly how much time do you guys actually spend riding this ride? because from the way the discussion is going your making it sound like you spend as much time riding the Moon cars as you do the coasters, and I really find that hard to believe...

The only thing wrong with the cars at this point is that they run on a short track, and that's it.  The moon cars had their prime years, and that was back in the parks earlier days, a time when a lot of you weren't even around yet.  Over the years they slowly lost their popularity, the track was shortened, and moved on a couple of occasions, to suit the parks needs.  When EK was installed, my guess is that the park reinstalled  the Moon cars just to keep them in the park since it is one of the parks original operating rides.

I honestly don't think, with today's standards, views, expectations, that even if the park WAS to invest in the Moon cars, that it would ever become a top ride again. people want more for their money now days, they expect a little more excitement and entertainment for their money, more than what a 7-10 mph car ride is going to do.

I think those here complaining about the Moon cars are doing it more because of nostalgic reasons, more than anything else.

Lets move to a different section of the park, a ride that could definitely use some funding in 2011 would be our parks only dark ride, Scooby Doo.  I have been lucky or unlucky enough to witness every version of our parks dark ride, some were better than others.  Scooby Doo is fun, but honestly half of that rides sets are so dark, and several parts of it aren't even working anymore, for the last month of the season or more, the mystery van hasn't been working either, it makes all of its sounds, but the lights didn't come on and the van didn't move from its spot like its supposed to.

I propose that the park completely renovates the ride, remove the waterway and boats, and installs something like Holiday Worlds dark ride, the Gobbler Getaway..:

that's how the dark ride should look, in my opinion anyway, I would rather see them do something like this more than work on the Moon cars, wouldn't you?

For the record I still ride the moon cars almost every time I visit, but mostly just to say I rode them.

As for the dark ride, All I can say is I can't disagree with you Eagle.

I also think they should do a little more theming on Mr. Freeze's island.  Although it looks rundown just because of the overgrown weeds, I would like to see something else on there theme wise.  Can't say what but it just needs something.  I know there's not a lot of room.

I also agree that Mr. Freeze could use some theming around its grounds, its just too open and bare, and well the weeds don't help at all either..hehehe

I wouldn't mind another batman villain ride on the island like Poison Ivy or Penguin,
also Batman the ride needs taken care of.

sounds good to me, which direction should the coaster go? off towards the wooded area on the east side of the park?  maybe towards the back of the park, towering over the mine train, maybe having a turn around up by the Screamin Eagle...

WoW

The 2010 season has not even started as of yet and here are talking about 2011.

Well lets give this a try...  I heard that the moon car track was not going to change but they were going to be updated to Hyper Moon Cars.  Can you imagine that on the current track... YEA haw!!!

Anyway I think 2010 is going to be great.  It will be nice to see some of the improvements that were made over the winter.  As for 2011 it has the makings for us to get something new being a flat, maybe a coaster, who knows.   I wouldn't think its going to be anything big at this point due to the fact of the bankraupcy and the fact that every park is supposed to be getting something.

I'd go back towards the mine train area, but wherever it goes I'm ok with as long as we get one.

They could easily replace the water ride there(cant remember the name) with a rollercoaster in 2011.  I mean has anyone been back there lately?  Its dead completely dead.  I went back there on a hot day just for the water ride and found out that we have bumper cars.  So I think that area needs a whole lot of reviving.

You're talking about the tidal wave, I would build the coaster back there and then see if it brings up the popularity in that ride before we rip it out.
